Sister Mary Veneranda CSC, 66, of the Sisters of Holy Cross, died early today in Saint Mary’s Convent. She was born in 1900 in Germany, receiving her early education in Germany and completing her high school and college education at St. Mary’s College. She came to the United States in 1923 to enter the Sisters of the Holy Cross and received the habit of the congregation in 1924. She made her profession of vows in 1926. During her community life she was assigned to schools in Salt Lake City, Utah; Morris, Woodstock and Evergreen Park in Illinois; and Plymouth, Logansport and Anderson in Indiana. Prior to her recent assignment at St. Mary’s Convent in Michigan City, she taught at St. Patrick’s School in South Bend.

 

The requiem high mass will be offered at 4 p.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Loretto Church at St. Mary’s College, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call at the convent parlor.
