SOUTH BEND - Alma Jean Green Fulton beloved wife, mother, sister, and daughter , who resided on Bella Vista Street, South Bend, Indiana passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2008 in Loyola Medical University in Maywood, Illinois.. On November 3, 1960 she was born to the union of the late Walter Louis Green and Alma Jean Green of Covington, Tennessee. Alma was educated at Covington High School , University of Tennessee at Martin where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work. She married Gary Hammond Fulton on September 30, 1995 . She was a member of Greater Bethlehem Church located in Elkhart, Indiana where she was a member of the choir and church clerk. She was a very active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority where she served as Secretary for four years. Mrs. Fulton was employed as a Program Coordinator with AWS of Indiana, and previously with Cardinal Nursing Home, Fountain View Nursing Home, Life House of Elkhart, Indiana, and Elkhart Community Day Care. She is survived by her husband, Gary H. Fulton, one daughter Jennifer Fulton of Buffalo, New York, two grand children, Saud Muhammad and Sauiid Fulton also of Buffalo, New York, her mother , Aima Jean Hawkins, of Covington, Tennessee, and sisters Diane Green,of Covington, Tennessee,Justine Bailey of Buffalo, New York, Tenika Cooper, of Yazoo, Mississippi, brothers Tinmiie Hawkins, Michael Anthony Flawkins all of Covington and James Hawkins, Jr. (Cheryl) of Mason Tennessee. She will be sadly missed by her husband's siblings Theo Fulton and James (Rose) Fulton; her mother in law, Shirley Fulton of South Bend, Indiana; and other family members and a host of neices, nephews, cousins and other friends. She was preceded in death by a brother in law, Guy Alan Fulton. Some of her passions were shopping, food; she made the best deviled eggs, and her husband and family.

 

Services will be held at Greater Bethlehem Church located at 1829 Oakland Avenue in Elkhart at one P.M. with the Reverend Nichols Cossey presiding. Visitation will take place at Alford's Mortuary located at 1222 Napier, South Bend between 6 and 8 P.M. on Friday, December 26, 2008. Delta Sigma Theta will conduct an Omega Omega Service at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2008 at Alford's Mortuary. Arrangements have been entrusted with Alford's Mortuary.
