Sister M. Marietta Fuzy (March 3, 1909 - Feb. 9, 2000)

Sister Marietta Fuzy of Villa Madonna, Hackettstown, N.J., passed away at 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9.

She was born Gizella Fuzy on March 3, 1909 in South Bend, Ind., to Joseph and Caroline Fuzy.

She professed her vows to God in the Order of Divine Charity in 1931. She taught school in South Bend at Our Lady of Hungary, St. Stephans and she was the Superior at Corpus Christi Grade School. She also taught at schools in Detroit, Mich. and Toledo, Ohio. Right after she retired from teaching, she continued her faithful service to God in Staten Island, N.Y.

She was from a family of five children. She is survived by a sister, Irma Weisser and a brother-in-law, Karl Weisser; seven nieces and nephews; 22 great-nieces and nephews and 20 great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother and three siblings, Margaret Jossens of South Bend, Joseph Fuzy of South Bend and Helen Spoo of Chicago, Ill.

Services were held on Feb. 11, in Villa Madonna, Hackettstown. The burial followed the service. Scala Funeral Home, Hackettstown, handled arrangements.
