Betty J. Gadacz

SOUTH BEND – Betty J. Gadacz, 74, of South Brookfield Street, South Bend, died at 1:55pm on Saturday, August 1, in St Joseph’s Medical Center.

She was born on March 8, 1924, in Detroit MI, and lived in this area most of her life.  Mrs. Gadacz was preceded in death by a son, Charles Mark Eby, who died in 1966; her parents, Malcolm L. and Elizabeth Mae (Ford) Billingsley; and by two sisters, Patricia Ann Steele and Margaret Elizabeth Soule.

Mrs. Gadacz was a graduate of South Bend Central High School, and was a member of the Christian Center Cathedral of Praise.  She was employed by Transitional Health Services of South Bend for 30 years.

On October 15, 1962, in Cassopolis MI, as Betty Billingsley, she married Alexander S. Gadacz, who survives.

She is also survived by four daughters, Rebecca Jo Eby, Anne K. (Clarence C.) Nelson, Susan Lynne Eby and Dawn Elizabeth Gragg, all of South Bend; four grandchildren, Joseph Michael (Sherry) Nate of Mishawaka. Jennifer Michelle Eby of South Bend, Christopher Alan Smith of Los Angeles CA and Jean Elizabeth Gragg of South Bend; and by one great granddaughter, Ashley Marie Nate of Mishawaka.

There will be no visitation or services.  Cremation will take place.
