Michael Regis Gallagher, 39, of East Oakmont Drive, South Bend, Ind., died on Monday, March 9, in his residence. He was born on Feb. 28, 1959, in South Bend, and had lived here all of his life. He is survived by his parents, Edward and Henrietta Gallagher of South Bend; and by his brother, Patrick Gallagher of Stonington, Conn.
Michael graduated from St. Joseph High School and had attended Indiana State and Arizona State Universities. He loved working with his hands and was especially proficient with wood.
The Rite of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, University of Notre Dame duLac, followed by interment in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association at 115 S.
