Rose T. Ganser

MISHAWAKA – Rose T. Ganser, 90, formerly of 815 E. 4th Street, died about 7:40 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Hospital after an illness. Mrs. Ganser was born on March 22, 1895 in Mishawaka and was a lifetime area resident.

 

On Jan. 12, 1916 as Rose Steif, she married Edward A. Ganser in St. Joseph Catholic Church. He died in September 1973. Surviving are two daughters, Virginia R. Hahn of Mishawaka and Ruth Catterlin of Michigan City; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lena Gooley of South Bend and Esther Beutter of Mishawaka; and two brothers, Lawrence Steif of South Bend and Walter Steif of Mishawaka. A daughter, Margaret DeBroka died in 1973.

 

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may cal from 3 to 9 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the Hahn’s DeVos Funeral Home, where a Christian wake service will be at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Parish. Mrs. Ganser was a member of the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary, Circle 13 of St. Joseph Church, the Mishawaka-Penn Twp. Democratic Women’s Club; and the Daughters of Isabella.
