SOUTH BEND - Services for Monica Mary Geiger, 91, of Eaton Street, who died at 9:27 p.m. Monday in Holy Cross Care & Rehabilitation Center, were at 11:30 a.m. today in Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Hickey Funeral Home handled arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Cross House, Notre Dame, IN 46556.

Mrs. Geiger was the former co-owner of Geiger Optical and a former employee of Edgerton's Travel Agency. She was born Nov. 8, 1904, in Chatsworth, Ill., and had lived in South Bend since 1943. As Monica Mary Lahey, she married James E. Geiger. He died Sept. 25, 1959. She is survived by a niece, Patricia Hassel of Lockport, Ill.; and four other great nieces and nephews, Monica Hassel, Eileen Hassel, Stephen Hassel and James Hassel, all of Chicago. She was a member of Harvest House of the church, Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary 235, and University Club, was a volunteer at Healthwin Hospital, and was a charter member of St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary.
