Norman Richel Geist III, age 3, of the 55000 block of Meadowview Avenue, passed away on Friday, March 10, in a house fire at his residence. Norman was born on October 30, 1996, to Norman R. Geist, Jr., and Angela K. (Baker) Geist in Mishawaka. Surviving are his mother and father, Angela K. Geist and Norman R. Geist, Jr., and a brother, Robbie Baker, all of South Bend; Norman's paternal great- grandparents, Mary and Frances Geist of Mishawaka, his paternal grandparents, Norman Geist, Sr., and his wife Carol, of South Bend; his maternal great-grandmother, Susie Janes of Mishawaka; maternal grandparents Donald D.E. and Janie Baker of Dunkirk, Indiana, and Brenda K. and Robert Carson of South Bend; as well as four aunts and seven uncles.

Visitation for Norman and his brother, Nicholis, will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2000, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Services will be conducted by Reverend Kenneth Mendenhall of United Pentecostal Church on Thursday, March 16, 2000, at 2:00 p.m. in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Donations in both Norman's and Nicholis' names may be made to Fountain View Nursing Home, the Lions Club of South Bend, and the St. Joseph County City Building.
