SOUTH BEND – Robert H. Gerhold, 71, of 2125 Beverly Place, died at 5:30 a.m. today in his home. He was a retired carpenter for South Bend Community School Corporation, have worked there for 25 years. He retired in 1975. He was born Dec. 13, 1916 in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On Feb. 7, 1942 in Yonkers, N.Y. he married Dorothy Enfield, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Janice Gerhold of South Bend; a son James H. of South Bend; and a brother, William E. of South Bend.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Welscheimer Funeral Home, where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Riverview Masoleum.
