Rose Gerstbauer

MISHAWAKA – Mrs. Joseph P. Gerstbauer, aged 75, lifelong resident of this county, died at 7:20 p.m. Monday in her home, 202 S. Harrison Street. She had been seriously ill for two weeks. She was born Jan. 9, 1862 in this county.

As Miss Rose Becher she was married Sept. 28, 1882 in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church to Mr. Gerstbauer, who survives. Mrs. Gerstbauer was a lifelong member of the church  and belonged to its Rosary Society. Surviving besides her husband are a daughter Miss Mary E. Gerstbauer, at home, and two sons, James L. Gerstbauer and J. Louis Gerstbauer, both of this city.

Services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. Rev. George J. Lauer, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in ST. Joseph Cemetery. Until the funeral the body may be viewed in the residence.
