Mrs. Harriet C.(Nowacki) Gillen

September 30, 1904 - January 28, 1954

Mrs. Harriet C. (Nowacki) Gillen, 213 S. Walnut St., died in St Joseph Hospital at 12:27pm Thursday after an illness of three months.

Born in South Bend September 30, 1904, she had lived here all her life.  Her husband, Edward Gillen, a retired South Bend fireman, died September 10, 1951.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Stella Schultz, Detroit MI and Mrs. Bertha Jaworski, South Bend; four brothers, Frank, Sylvester, Alex, and Casimir Nowacki,  all of South Bend.

Friends may call after noon Saturday in the Kaniewski & Son Chapel.  The funeral will be held at 10am Monday in St Hedwige's Catholic Church.  Rev. Boleslaus J. Sztuczko, CSC, pastor, will officiate at a Solemn Requiem Mass.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.  Mrs. Gillen was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of American Legion Pulaski Post 357.

The rosary will be recited for Mrs. Harriet C. (Nowacki) Gillen, 213 S Walnut St., who died Thursday at 7pm today and Sunday in the Kaniewski & Son Funeral Home by the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion Pulaski Post 357.
