SOUTH BEND - Wayne R. Gingrich, 88, of 1120 E. Eckman St., died Sunday in Big Rapids at a relative's home in Big Rapids. Mr. Gingrich retired in 1968 from Greyhound Bus Lines after 45 years of service. He was born April 20, 1906, in Millbrook, Mich., and lived in South Bend since 1929.

On Feb. 27, 1927, in Battle Creek, Mich., he married Eathyl Ely. She died June 1, 1992. He is survived by a daughter, Penni Guard of Plymouth; a sister, Leaha Wheelock of Lansing; and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 45, Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, and Orak Shrine Temple.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home, Big Rapids. Burial will be in Pine Plains Cemetery, Big Rapids. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and until services Tuesday in the funeral home.
