Carmina Gizzi

MISHAWAKA – Carmina Gizzi, 79, of 721 Alabama Street, died at 11:37 p.m. Wednesday in Michiana Community Hospital, South Bend after an illness. Mrs. Gizzi was retired from Uniroyal here in 1962 after 30 years of service. She was born July 27, 1906 in Alatri, Italy.

On Feb. 14, 1928 as Carmina Moriconi, she married Luigi Gizzi in Alatri. He died July 21, 1980. Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Zellers of Mishawaka; two sons, Emilio “Guy” Gizzi of South Bend and Brother Eugene Gizzi, CFA, of Elk Grove Village, Ill.; six grandchildren; and a sister, Sister Benigna Morconi of Rome.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Hahns’-DeVos Funeral Home, where a rosary services will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday . Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
