Filomena Gizzi

MISHAWAKA – Mrs. Filomena Gizzi, 94, of 805  Alabama Street, was dead on arrival Monday at St. Joseph Hospital, where she was taken by city ambulance after apparently suffering a heart attack. She was born in Alatri, Italy on Dec. 30, 1976 and came here from that city in 1924.

 

On May 26, 1901, as Filomena Magliocchetti, she was married to Angelo Gizzi in Alatri. He died June 1, 1963. Surviving are a son Luigi, and a daughter, Mrs. Oliva Morconi, both of Mishawaka; three grandchildren, and sis great-grandchildren.

 

Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the DeVos Chapel, where a rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Very Rev. Msgr, Curt A. Suezler, pastor will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery
