Sister Contassion CSC, who devoted the greater part of her active life to missionary work, died in St. Mary’s Academy at 4 o’clock this morning, aged 87 years. Her worldly name was Margaret Gleeson. She was born in 1827 and has been a nun since 1845. The greater part of her time as a nun was spent in missionary work in the east, especially Washington and Alexandria, Va. Owing to failing health she returned to St. Mary’s Academy in 1882, where she remained until her death.

The funeral services will be held Monday morning from the St. Mary’s Chapel, Father J. Hagerty, CSC, officiating. Internment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
