Elizabeth Anne Gleissner

Mishawaka – Elizabeth Anne “Betty” Gleissner, 71, of Washington Street, died at 11:45 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Hospital.

 

Mrs. Gleissner retired in 1960 as a registered nurse.

 

She was born Oct. 29, 1920 in Mishawaka and was a lifelong area resident.

 

On Sept. 19, 1942, in Mishawaka, as Elizabeth A. Weinkauf, she married John T. Gleissner. He survives with three daughters, Jean A. Gleissner of Mishawaka, Janice Harward of Harrisburg, N.C., and Marianne E. Ziegenhorn of Wood Dale, Ill.; six sons, John P., Philip J, Charles E. and Paul T., all of Mishawaka, Robert L. of Urbana, Ill., and Joseph P. of Pittsboro, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Zimmerman of Rancho Murieta, Calif., and Marie Williams of Mishawaka; and a brother, Joseph Weinkauf of South Bend.

 

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rosary Society and Mishawaka-Penn Township Democratic Club,

 

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 3 p.m.

Service for Elizabeth A. “Betty” Gleissner, 71, who died at 11:45 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church.

 

Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 3 p.m.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association or the church.
