Fred J. Gleissner

Aug. 10, 1907 – June 22, 1963

Fred J. Gleissner, 55, of 2528 Mishawaka Ave., manager of the Hollis Funeral Home since 1931, was dead on arrival at 1:45 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Hospital. Mr. Gleissner suffered a heart attack in the funeral home.

 

He was born Aug. 10 1907 in Milwaukee and came to South Bend as a small boy.

 

He was married on Aug. 2, 1930 in LaPorte to Helen Good who died in 1958. Surviving are a son James Gleissner of South Bend; four brothers, George W. Gleissner of LaPorte, Thomas P. and John T. Gleissner of Mishawaka and Eugene E. Gleissner of Prairie Village, Kan., and two sisters, Mrs. Allison Lindahl and Mrs. Elmo Nix of Mishawaka.

 

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday.

The rosary for Fred J. Gleissner, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., will be recited in the Hollis Funeral Home by St. Anthony’s parish at 7:30 p.m. today by members of St. Vincent de Paul.

 

Funeral rites will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

 

Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
