George A. Glissman

George A. Glissman, 79, of 1001 Mayflower, died at 4pm Saturday in the Carlyle Nursing Home after an extended illness. 

A retired self-employed machinist, he was born March 29, 1900, in Decatur IL, and had lived in South Bend since 1975, coming here from Montana.  On July 3, 1953, in Mishawaka, he married Nina Hartman who survives.  Surviving are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Robert Neland of North Liberty; a stepson, Robert Hartman of Nogales AZ; 10 grandchildren; one great grandchild, and two sisters, Mrs. Carl Holm of Sidney MT and Mrs. Gus Hilding of Wauseon OH.

Services will be at 1pm Monday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William.  Rev. Ammon Wenger, pastor of the City Church of the Brethren in South Bend, will officiate.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
