Richard Goddard

Richard Goddard, 84, of Hamilton Grove, New Carlisle, Ind., died at 10:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, in Hamilton Grove. He was born on Aug. 16, 1920, in South Bend, Ind., to the late Ethel (O'Brien) and Charles Goddard.

 

On Oct. 11, 1947, in South Bend, he married Olga Winifred Hunsley, who preceded him in death on Sept. 8, 1983. Mr. Goddard is survived by two daughters, Judy Ship of Stevens Point, Wis., and Marsha (Hoyt) Long of Staunt, Va.; a son, Neil J. (Linda) Goddard of Three Oaks, Mich.; and by one grandchild.

 

Mr. Goddard was a sheet metal worker. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 20, the American Legion and the Holiday Ramblers Club Chapter 87. Mr. Goddard was a World War II Army veteran, serving in Central Europe during the war.

 

Services for Mr. Goddard will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.
