Malinda Goebel

Malinda Goebel, 90, of Eastgate Circle, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 4:45 p.m., Thursday, in Regency Place Health Care & Rehabilitation Center, South Bend. She was born on Dec. 19, 1905, in Blue Island, Ill. She worked at Ball Band.

 

On Feb. 2, 1941, as Malinda Schroeder, she married Orville Goebel in Mishawaka. Orville preceded her in death on May 8, 1974. She is survived by five nieces, Lois E. Poynter of Granger, Ind.; Carol Fishburn of South Bend, Ind., Ann Bottorff of Florida, Mary Holsher of Oregon and Helen Heck of Washington; four nephews, Kenneth Schroeder of Mishawaka, Wayne Schroeder of Elkhart, Ind., Ervin Schroeder of Virginia and John Schroeder of Oregon. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Laura Schroeder, Evelyn Engel, Eleanor Sontchi and her twin sister, Leona Schroeder; and two brothers, Raymond A. Schroeder and Ervin Schroeder.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, in St. Peter Lutheran Church, 437 Dragoon Trail, Mishawaka. Rev. Kenneth Mangelsdorf will officiate. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, at Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Friends may also call one hour before services at the church. Malinda was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, The Altar Guild, Ladies Guild, and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to the Lutheran Braille Workers.
