Joseph T. Goepfrich, 70, of 2813 Elwood Ave., was dead on arrival at St. Joseph's Hospital at 12:30 p.m. Saturday after becoming ill in his home. He was born in South Bend on Sept. 4, 1891, and had resided here all of his life. On May 7, 1938, he was married to Rose Harringer. He was a retired cabinet maker for the Bendix Aviation Corp. Besides his widow, he is survived by two sons, Albert and Joseph, Jr., both of South Bend; two daughters, Mrs. Ignatius Strantz of South Bend, and Mrs. Alex Schneider of Elkhart; nine grandchildren, two brothers, Frank of Three Rivers and Rudolph of South Bend; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Resnik of South Bend and Mrs. William Stelzer of Detroit. Friends may call in the Nemeth Funeral Home after 3 p.m. today. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in St. John the Baptist Catholiic Church, Rev. Joseph Jacobs, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in hiighland Cemetery. He was a member of the St. Stephen's Society.
