Lillian C. Goforth

Sept. 21, 1915 - Dec. 31, 1997

Lillian Clara Goforth, 82, of 1502 N. Iowa St., South Bend, Ind., passed away at 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31, under the special care of Millie Weber at 22438 Riley Road, Lakeville, Ind.

Mrs. Goforth retired in 1983 from St. Joseph's Medical Center as a Senior Nurses Aide after 17 years of service.

She was born on Sept. 21, 1915, in Columbia, Tenn. She has lived in South Bend since 1955, coming from Evansville, Ind. She was married on Dec. 31, 1941, in Nashville, Tenn., to Ernest R. Goforth, Sr., who preceded her in death on June 19, 1975. Her late parents names were Ira Lee Worley and Minnie Louise (Pullen).

She is survived by two sons, Ernest R. Goforth, Jr. of South Bend and Charles E. Goforth of Pflugerville, Texas; and by two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, William R. Goforth, who died on Dec. 23, 1975; and by a brother, Ira Lee Worley, Jr.

Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend, Ind., and one hour prior to services in the Calvary Baptist Church.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday in the Calvary Baptist Church at 3001 W. Cleveland Road. Ernest R. Goforth, Jr., will officiate, assisted by Pastor David G. Jenkins. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

Lillian went home to be with the Lord.
