Jeanne M. "Jean" Goheen, 84, of West Washington Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, in the Saint Joseph Care Center West Nursing Home.

Jean was born on July 2, 1919, in Van Buren County, Mich., to Niles D. and Mary S. (Fish) Conklin. She married Russell L. Goheen in 1938. He preceded her in death in 1987. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Sullivan and Bernice Ransdell; and by three brothers, Warren, Andrew and James Conklin.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Laker of South Bend and Christine (Jerry) Wise of Sacramento, Calif.; a son, John M. (Deon) Goheen of LaVerkin, Utah; eight grandchildren, Dan Pulaski, Jeff (Lynn) Pulaski, Rick Pulaski, Beth Ann (Robert) Miller, Amy Sue (Mike) Trobec, John (Kim) Goheen Jr., Sage Goheen and Stacey Bell; and by 24 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Jean was also a foster grandmother for many special-needs children in the Foster Grandparent program.

There will be private services held at a later date. McGann Funeral Home, University Area Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Road, South Bend, is handling arrangements.
