SOUTH BEND - Harry O. Goodwin, 69, of
Eugene Street, died at 8:15 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Medical
Center after an illness. Mr. Goodwin retired in 1985 from
Wheelabrator-Frye Corp., Mishawaka, after 29 years of service as
a factory worker and was a self-employed carpenter. He was born
July 25, 1925, in Washington, D.C., and lived in South Bend since
1949, coming from Huntington, W.Va.
On July 25, 1949, in Ashland, Ky., he
married Mary A. Morgan. She survives with a daughter,
Freida Humerickhouse of South Bend; a son, James A. of
South Bend; and four grandchildren. He was a member of United
Auto Workers Local 995.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in
Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road. Burial will
be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call two hours before
services Saturday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may
be made to American Heart Association.
