SOUTH BEND - Beverly E. Gordon, 75, residing in South
Bend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2008, at 7:55
p.m. in the Milton Home surrounded by her loving family. She was
born July 30, 1932, in Bremen, IN, to Wilson Sherman and Cora
Dell (Dunfee) Holderman, and had lived in this area
all of her life.
On July 6, 1949, in Francesville, IN, she
was united in marriage to Navarro D. Gordon, who passed away on
October 31, 1980. Mrs. Gordon retired from K-Mart on South
Michigan Street, South Bend, as a sales associate in Lay-A-Way,
Automotive and Sporting Goods. She enjoyed oil painting,
gardening, flowers, and country music. She loved to sit on her
outdoor swing and watch the birds. She is survived by two
daughters, Debbie L. (Julius "Jay") Kovach of
South Bend and Marcy E. (Bruce) Marschke of Stevensville,
MI; and three sons, Robin W. (Lisa) Gordon, Mark V. Gordon and
Brett E. Gordon, all of South Bend; and a daughter-in-law, Brooke
Gordon of Shreveport, LA. Also surviving are six grandchildren,
Jennifer Gordon and Bradley Gordon, both of Mishawaka, Rachell
(Willie L.) Deloney of South Bend, Alicia (Malcolm) Smith
of Atlanta, GA, Jason Marschke and Krista Marschke, both
of Stevensville, MI; a step-granddaughter, Amanda Stahl of
South Bend. Three great-grandchildren, Moranda Hegedus,
Jaden Hegedus and James Smith, a sister, Dorothy (Mike) Leeper
of Bremen, and a brother-in-law, Bob and Martha Gordon of
Plymouth, survive Beverly as well. Contributions may be made to
the Alzheimer's Association, 922 E. Colfax Avenue, South Bend, IN
46617.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. today
(Thursday, March 13) in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel,
3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend. Graveside services and
burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. The family received
friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home.
