Gorney, Kazmierczak, Nowicki, Cichowicz, Makowski, Pielach, Grzegorek, CiceroZygmunt J. Gorney: (South Bend Tribune 7/16/1983)Zygmunt (Ike) J. Gorney, 79, of 433 S. Carlisle, died Friday night at St. Joseph’s Medical Center after an extended illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church with Rev. Eugene J. Kazmierczak, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday. He was born on Aug. 16, 1903, in South Bend and was a lifelong resident of the area. On Jan. 19, 1926, he married Marie Nowicki. She survives along with two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Cichowicz and Mrs. Rita Makowski and a son Richard, all of South Bend; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Pielach and Mrs. Clara Grzegorek of South Bend, and Mrs. Wanda Cicero of San Antonio, Tex.; and a brother, Alex, of South Bend. He was retired from the Bendix Corp.
