Mrs. Emma Gouker

 

    Mrs. Emma Gouker, 80, of 508 Georgia St. Walkerton, died 6 p.m. Monday in Elkhart General Hospital. Mrs. Gouker was born July 17, 1885, in St. Joseph County, Mich.. She married the late John Gouker May 31, 1906, in Goshen. Survivors are: two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Mathers of Middlebury and Mrs. Irene Lidy of Walkerton; three sons, Marvin Gouker of Ft. Wayne, Marvin Gouker of North Liberty and Robert Gouker of Anderson; a sister Mrs. Elmer Harper of South Bend; a brother, Elroy Kime of North Liberty; 19 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren. A Past Noble Grand of the Rebecca Lodge and past president of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Mrs. Gouker was a member of the Methodist church where she taught Sunday School for six years until her death. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today and until 11 a.m. Thursday at the Nusbaum Funeral Home, Walkerton, and from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Walkerton Methodist Church where services will be conducted. Rev. Harold Williams, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Gracelawn Cemetery, Middlebury.
