James M. Gramenz

October 12, 1934 – May 27, 1973

James M. Gramenz, 38, of 225 W. Lawrence St., died at 6am today in St Joseph’s Hospital, South Bend, after an illness of one year.  He was born in South Bend on October 12, 1934, and had resided all his life in Mishawaka. He married Mary L. Shalley in Mishawaka on October 18, 1958.  She survives. 

He was employed for 11 years as a millwright by the Adams & Westlake Co., Elkhart, and was a veteran of the Korean War.

Also surviving are three sons, James Lee, Terry Joseph and Kenneth Dean, at home; a daughter, Judith Ann, at home; his mother, Mrs. Berniece Gramenz of Mishawaka; two brothers, Wesley of Mishawaka and Dennis of South Bend, and a sister, Mrs. Herman Antone of Snyder IN.

Friends may call from 7 to 9pm Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Monday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, where arrangements are being completed. 

He was a member of Post 360, Veterans of Foreign Wars and St Monica’s Catholic Church.

FUNERAL NOTES

GRAMENZ – Funeral services for James M. Gramenz, 38, of 225 W. Lawrence St., who died early Saturday in St Joseph Hospital, South Bend, after a one year illness, will be held at 10am Tuesday in St Monica’s Catholic Church.  Rev. William Gieranowski, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.  Friends may call from 7 to 9pm today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Monday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30pm Monday.
