Elizabeth Mary Graveel

MISHAWAKA – Mrs. Elizabeth M. Graveel, 91, of 507 W. 6th Street, died at 11:45 p.m. Monday in her home after a year’s illness. Born April 29, 1892 in Bellem, Belgium, she moved to Mishawaka in 1907 from that country.

 

She was married as Elizabeth Mary Hallaert in Bellem on March 20, 1907 to Hector Graveel, who died in 1959. She was a member of St. Bavo’s Catholic Church, the Altar Society, the B.K. Auxiliary and Senior Citizens. She is survived by a son Raymond of Mishawaka; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Brockhaus and Mrs. Robert Thieron, both of Mishawaka; a brother Joseph Hallaert of Ghent, Belgium; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Bavo’s catholic Church. Rev. Stephen Cvangia, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
