Hector J. Graveel

MISHAWAKA – Hector J. Graveel, 78, of 507 W. 6th Street, a resident of Mishawaka since 1904 died at 12:15 p.m. Friday in St. Joseph Hospital following an illness of three weeks. He was born in Belgium, March 5, 1881.

 

He married Elizabeth Mary Hallaert in Bellem, Belgium on March 12, 1904. In 1946 he retired from Ball Band after 38 years of service. Surviving besides his widow are two sons; Joseph C,. of Colon, Mich., and Raymond of Mishawaka; and two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Brockhaus and Mrs. Jennie Thieron, both of Mishawaka; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, August Graveel of South Bend and Rene Graveel of Mishawaka.

 

Friends may call after noon Sunday in the Thallemer-Goethals Chapel and until the time of the services at 9 a.m. Tuesday in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church. Rt. Rev. Msgr. Otto A. Keller, pastor will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday in St. Bavo’s Church. Mr. Graveel was a member of the Broederenking Club and the Mishawaka Penn-Twp. Democratic Club.
