SOUTH BEND - Dorsey H. Gray, 83, of
North Michigan Street, died at 11:57 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's
Medical Center after an illness. Mr. Gray retired from American
Foods, LaPorte, and was a former employee of Studebaker Corp. He
was born Sept. 19, 1910, in Streator, Ill., and lived in South
Bend most of his life.
In 1936, in Virginia, Minn., he married
Mayme Gagne. She died in 1972. In 1974, in Kansas, he married
Mary Thout, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter,
Annette Brown of South Bend; three sons, Donald R. and
Robert E., both of South Bend, and Jon D. of Hemet, Calif.; 11
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Lehiy
of Greenleaf, Kan., and Helen Blad of Florida; and a
brother, Jasper of Greenleaf. A daughter, Roberta Gray, died in
1938.
Graveside services and burial were at 1:30
p.m. today in St. Joseph Cemetery. St. Joseph Funeral Home
handled arrangements.
