Lucille P. Grimmer

SOUTH BEND - Lucille P. "Lucy" Grimmer, 84, residing in South Bend, passed away at 4:05 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2008, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. She was born June 24, 1923, in Brooklyn, New York, as the daughter of Nicholas and Mary DiBenedetto, and had resided in South Bend since 1946, coming from New York.

 

On October 21, 1945, in Brooklyn, NY, she was united in marriage to Everett L. Grimmer Sr., who passed away on October 31, 2003. She is survived by her three sons, Everett L. (Deborah) Grimmer Jr., Danny (Barbara) Grimmer and Terry L. Grimmer, all of South Bend. Also surviving are five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and her sister, Mary Sanphillo of Howard Beach, New York. Mrs. Grimmer retired from the Sewing Dept. at Enro Shirt Factory in South Bend, and was a longtime member of St. Jude Catholic Church.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 7, in St. Jude Catholic Church, 19704 Johnson Road, South Bend. Rev. John Delaney, pastor, will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to noon Saturday in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Grimmer may be made to the River Bend American Cancer Society, 919 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, IN 46617.
