Roy Sigward Gronning

MISHAWAKA - Services for Roy Sigward Gronning, 71, of Berkley Circle, died about 10:15 a.m. Tuesday in his home after an illness. Mr. Gronning retired from Church Growth Services, South Bend, as an architectural draftsman and was also formerly employed by Brethren Architectural Service, Winona Lake, Cole & Associates, South Bend. He was born March 2, 1922, in Milwaukee.

 

On Aug. 21, 1949, in Mishawaka, he married Margie McClane. She survives with three daughters, Bethel Nowacki of Bremen, Rachelle Gronning of South Bend, and Jan Desimone of Granger; two sons, Chris of Anchorage, Alaska, and Eric of Phoenix; two grandchildren; a sister, Marian Kassow of Clearwater, Fla.; and a brother, Donald of Watertown, Wis. He was a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, and was a member of Twin Branch Bible Church, serving as a deacon, teacher and elder. He was a veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart.

 

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the church. Private burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Hahn Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
