Michael Grontkowski

September 18, 1900 – July 13, 1969

Michael Grontkowski, 68, of 1145 N. Huey St., died at 4:55pm Sunday in Wilton Rest Home after a lengthy illness.  He was a retired employee of the Studebaker Corp.

He was born on September 18 1900, in Poland, and lived in South Bend most of his life.  On October 6, 1951, in South Bend, he married Elizabeth Szabo, who survives.  Also surviving are three brothers, Theodore, Walter and Edwin, all of South Bend; four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Zyto, Mrs. Theresa Smanda, Mrs. Mary Kubiak, and Mrs. Victoria Przybysz, all of South Bend.

Friends may call from 7 to 9pm today and from 1 pm to 9pm Tuesday in St Joseph Funeral Home.  Services will be at 9am Wednesday at St Stanislaus Catholic Church and Rev. Casimir Grabarz, CSC, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.  The rosary will be recited at 7:30pm today and Tuesday in the funeral home.
