Dorla D. Grossnickle, 66, of South
Bend, more recently of Niles, died at 11:45 p.m. Thursday in
Memorial Hospital. Dorla was born Jan. 9, 1930, in South Bend and
had moved back to South Bend from Niles after living in Niles for
30 years.
On Dec. 24, 1950, in South Bend, as Dorla D.
Penrod, she married Newell Grossnickle, who preceded her
in death on Aug. 20, 1977. She is survived by a son, David
(Patricia) Grossnickle of South Bend; and two granddaughters,
Sarah and Erica Grossnickle, both of South Bend; and a brother,
William Penrod of Mishawaka. A son, Dennis Grossnickle preceded
her in death last year.
Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday,
Dec. 29, in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood,
South Bend. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec.
30, in the funeral home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial
Garden Cemetery, Osceola.
