Adrian J. "Pete" Grover, 76, of East Mishawaka Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after a brief illness at 12:11 p.m. on Monday, June 10, in the Saint Joseph Community Hospital, Mishawaka.

Pete was born on Oct. 20, 1925, in Goshen, Ind., to the late Walter and Edith (Knepper) Grover. Pete was also preceded in death by a son, Jere P. Grover on Feb. 14, 1985.

 

Pete is survived by his wife, the former Martha Jean Riel, whom he married in Elkhart, Ind.; two sons, Lance (Rose) Grover and David (Melissa) Grover, both of Mishawaka; four grandchildren, Jennifer Woods of Mishawaka, Missy, Abigail and Katherine Grover, all of Mishawaka; a great-grandson, Kobe Woods of South Bend; a sister, Rosemary Judy of Constantine, Mich.; and by three brothers, Charles Grover of Tucson, Ariz., Jack Grover of Arizona City, Ariz., and John Grover of Elkhart.

 

Pete retired in 1984 from the former Interstate Motor Freight Company. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of Teamsters Local 364, and was a member of V.F.W. Post 985 in Goshen.

 

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, June 13, in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka. Services will be in the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 14, with Fr. Robert A. Yast officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
