Mary Agatha Guendling

SOUTH BEND – Mary Agatha Guendling, 92, formerly of 219 N. St. Louis Blvd., died Friday in Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal. She was a Catholic school teacher for more than 50 years, spending most of her time at St. Joseph Grade School, South Bend. She was born June 19, 1899 in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. Surviving are four nieces, Mary Cousat of Stevensville, Md., Joanne Guendling of Muncie, Ind., Carol Dillon of South Bend and Margaret Stumpf of Chapel Hill, NC; and two nephews, Jogn Guendling of Muncie and James Guendling of Hammond.

 

Miss Guendling was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a graduate of Canisius Coillege, Buffalo NY; St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame and Indian State University, Terre Haute, Ind.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today in Hickey Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 3 p.m.
