William James Guyberson Sr.

William James Guyberson Sr., 82, residing on Rosewood Drive, Mishawaka, passed away at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, in Countryside Place Nursing Home, Mishawaka. Mr. Guyberson was born on April 23, 1921, in South Bend, to William James and Gladys Mae (Trumble) Guyberson and had been a lifelong area resident. William is survived by one daughter, Marlene Marie (John) Heater of Lakeville, Ind.; four sons, Bradley Keith (Gloria) Guyberson of Elkhart, Ind., William J. Guyberson Jr. of Lapaz, Ind., Randy Allan Guyberson of South Bend and Jeffrey Joseph Guyberson of Edwardsburg, Mich. Also surviving are two stepsons, Dallas Reed of Denver, Colo., and Terry Reed of Sallisaw, Okla.; 21 grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; and one sister, Georgia Mae Yost of Lancaster, Calif. Mr. Guyberson was preceded in death by a brother, and on Aug. 4, 1999, a son, Lonnie Lee Guyberson. Mr. Guyberson was employed as a city bus driver from 1947 to 1957. He then went to work for Courier Newsome, which later sold to Preston Trucking, as a truck driver, retiring in 1979 after 30-plus years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post 284, South Bend.

 

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, in Palmer Funeral Home, 1109 Lincolnway West, Osceola, IN 46561, with Rev. Don Francis officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery in South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, in the funeral home.
