Phoebe I. Hagedorn

June 5, 1896 – December 18, 1974

Mrs. Phoebe I. Hagedorn, 78, of 1625 N Main, Mishawaka, formerly of South Bend, died at 2:40am today in St Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka, after an extended illness.

Born June 5, 1896, in Tyner.  She had lived in South Bend 40 years, coming from Tyner.  She had moved to Mishawaka two months ago.  In South Bend, as Phoebe Smith, she married Clarence W. Hagedorn, who died 1965.  Surviving are a daughter, Mrs Charlotte E. Conklin of Elkhart, nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; a brother, Marvin Smith of New Carlisle, and two sister, Mrs. Hazel Lybarger of Angola and Mrs. Mary Klingerman of Tyner

Services will be at 3pm Friday in the Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, 336 N Main.  Rev. Max B Hayden, pastor of the St Peter’s United Church of Christ, will officiate.  Burial will be in New Carlisle Cemetery, New Carlisle.  Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Thursday in the funeral home.
