Florence E. Hagenbush

Florence E. Hagenbush, 71, of 1510 Catherwood Drive, South Bend, Ind., died at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 5, at her residence. She had been in failing health for a year. She was born on July 8, 1927, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Eric and Agnes (Johnson) Carlson, who both preceded her in death. She had lived in the South Bend area since 1961, coming from Argos, Ind., where she had resided for 12 years.

 

On March 19, 1949, in Minneapolis, she married Robert LeRoy Hagenbush, who preceded her in death on May 29, 1997. She was also preceded in death by a infant daughter, Christy; and by a son, Robert in 1982. She retired from Kroger's Ireland Road store in 1966, and she was also a homemaker. Her hobbies included reading, puzzles and flower gardens. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church, Plymouth, Ind. She is survived by a daughter, Miss Cheryl Hagenbush of South Bend; a son, Richard Hagenbush of South Bend, and his fiancee, Amy Heyboer of Knox, Ind.; a granddaughter, Karen (Thomas) Edwards of Mentone, Ind.; a great-grandson, Colton Edwards of Mentone; and by a sister, Edith Carlson, and a brother, Evert Carlson, both of Minneapolis.

 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, at the Grossman Funeral Home, Argos, with Pastor Peter Wardlow officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from an hour prior to services on Thursday. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
