SOUTH BEND - Mary B. Halasi, 79, of 70281 Lakeview Drive, Edwardsburg, formerly of 1255 Fairington Circle, died at 2:30 p.m. Friday in her home after an illness. Mrs. Halasi was born Sept. 7, 1914, in South Bend.

On Feb. 6, 1937, in South Bend, as Mary Bella, she married Frank Halasi. He died Oct. 8, 1984. Surviving are three daughters, Carol Clem of Edwardsburg, with whom she made her home, Nancy Darrow of Portage and Marcia Sharp of Mishawaka; four grandchildren; a sister, Anne Simpson of Largo, Fla.; and two brothers, Joseph Bella of South Bend and Anton Bella of Osceola. Three daughters, Judith K. Halasi, Francis J. Halasi and Marie E. Halasi, preceded her in death. She was former foster grandparent and a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Jan. 23 in the church. Cremation will take place. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Jan. 23 in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church, Hospice of Cass County, Mich., or Foster Grandparents Program. Zahoran Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
