Rose Hallaert

Rose "Butch" Hallaert, 77, of Pelham Road, Greer, S.C., formerly of East 13th Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 18, in St. Francis Woman's Hospital, Greer. Rose was born on Oct. 2, 1924, in South Bend, Ind., as the daughter of Stephen and Veronica (Stopper) Kuharic. Rose was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James Hallaert; and by a sister, Frances Mayerhofer.

 

In Mishawaka, in St. Monica Catholic Church, on Jan. 16, 1943, as Rose Kuharic, she married George Hallaert, who survives. She is also survived by her son, Mike (Elaine) Hallaert of Greer; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her sister, Catherine Gramza of Mishawaka; and by a brother, Ivan Kuharic of Kansas City, Mo.

 

Rose was a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Rose will be truly missed by all who knew her.

 

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. with wake prayers at 5:30 p.m. today, Sept. 22, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, in St. Bavo Catholic Church, with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
