Max LeRoy Hall

Max LeRoy Hall, 70, of Montrose Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away Friday, at Memorial Hospital, after a lengthy illness. He was a supervisor and retired from the Dodge Reliance Company on Nov. 30, 1982. He retired from the Deck Manufacturing Plant in October of 1995. Mr. Hall was born on Aug. 22, 1926, in Bourbon, Ind., to Everett Hall and Mary Young-Hall, who both preceded him in death. Two brothers, Benjamin Hall and Wendel Hall; and a sister, Dorothy Sellers also preceded him in death.

 

On Sept. 29, 1946, he married Mary Lois Nifong in Etna Green, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 8, 1975. On June 12, 1976, he married P. Jean Stahly, in Walkerton, Ind., and she survives. He is also survived by twin daughters, Charlene Claywell of North Liberty, Ind. and Christine Lockwood of Grand Haven, Mich.; two stepsons, Donald Stahly of Walkerton and Michael Stahly of Granger, Ind.; four grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; a sister, Kathryn Wright of Granger; and a brother, Arthur Hall of Bourbon, Ind.

 

Services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, in the Crest Manor Church of the Brethren, 1342 E. Berkshire, South Bend, and burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Bourbon. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, and Monday, one hour prior to services in the church. Mr. Hall was a member of the Crest Manor Church of the Brethren and Mishawaka Masonic Lodge 130, F. & A.M., and he also served with the U.S. Marines during World War II. Memorials may be made to the church.
