Sister M. Bridgeda CSC, 67, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died suddenly of a cerebral hemorrhage at 10 p.m. Thursday in the convent. She was a nurse in Cairo, Ill. for 25 years. She was born Bridget Marie Halloway, in Kings Cove, Newfoundland, Dec. 12, 1879, and took her holy habit in 1901. In 1907 she was professed into the Holy Cross Order.

A requiem mass will be sung in the Chapel of Immaculate Conception at St. Mary’s on Saturday morning. Burial will be at 10:30 Saturday in the Community Cemetery.
