John H. Hambright

John H. Hambright, 76, of 3067 N. Silver Maple Court, South Bend, formerly of Mishawaka, was dead on arrival Wednesday at Memorial Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack.  He was born on March 11, 1904, in Mishawaka.  He married Loretta Bickel on July 4, 1921.  She survives with a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Shirley Anne) Books of Belleville, Mich.; a son, Robert Hambright of South Bend; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Maurice (Margaret) De-Shryer, of Sun City Center, Fla.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Church.  Rev. Robert Hoevel, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. 

Hambright was retired from the oil industry, and was employed as office manager of the Home Plumbing and Heating Supply firm.  He was a member of St. Joseph Church; the South Bend Elks Lodge 235; the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 323 of Logansport, Ind., and the Father Newlands General Assembly of the fourth degree of the Knights of Columbus Council 1878.
