MISHAWAKA - Rev. Roy G. Hamman, 83, of Sebring, Fla., formerly of Mishawaka, died at 4:48 p.m. Saturday in Highland Regional Medical Center, Sebring. Rev. Hamman retired in 1986 as the minister of Maranatha Baptist Church, Sebring, and retired in 1978 as the minister of First Baptist Church, Mishawaka, serving there since 1957. He was born Aug. 25, 1912, in Mercer County, Ohio, and lived in Mishawaka until 1978.

 

In 1934, he married Fern Minzey. She died in 1951. In 1952, he married Mary Kneeland. She survives with four sons, Rev. Donald R. of Oceanside, Calif., Richard of Salem, Ore., David of Brighton, Mich., and Charles of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute, Chicago. He spend 25 years with Baptist Mid-Missions and served as a missionary in Central Africa and was chairman of Inter-Missions Language Committee.

 

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., and an hour before services Thursday in the church. Memorial contributions may made to the church.
