Dies Of Broken Heart

Husband Refuses to Eat After Wife Passes Away.

John Haney, 92 years old, of Clay township, died Sunday night of a broken heart.  Just a week ago to the hour his aged wife, who had been his helpmeet for 62 years, died after telling her husband to join her soon.  Mr. Haney had taken no nourishment since.

Mr. Haney was born in Ireland May 1, 1825 and came to this country from Illinois 50 years ago.  He is survived by his children, William, Catherine, James, Mrs. George O’Brien and Mrs. Alex Sallows of Clay township, and Patrick, of Minnesota.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Sacred Heart church at Notre Dame university Rev Father Schierer officiating.  Burial will be in Cedar Grove cemetery.
