LAKEVILLE, IN — Marilyn G. Hanson, 68 years old, residing on Walnut Hill Drive, Lakeville, IN, passed away at 4:00 A.M. on Sunday, December 24, 2000, at her home after an extended illness. Marilyn was born on July 29, 1932, in Grand Rapids, MI, to the late Herman and Frances (LaSee) VanBeek. She has lived in our local area since 1960, moving from Grand Rapids. Marilyn was a member of the County Line Brethren Church. She worked at AM General for 11 years and retired in 1999 after working as a cashier at Goodwill Industries.

 

Survivors include one daughter, Loretta (Russell) Hess of Madison, WI; one son, Rev. Larry (Cindy) Hanson of Lakeville; six grandchildren, Jolene Hanson, Charlene Hanson, Rachael Hanson, Jacob Harlow, Jonathon Harlow and Cassie Hess; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Gertrude Bouwkamp of Grand Rapids, MI, Josephine Stroven of Wyoming, MI, and Shirley (Robert) Hoeksema of Grand Rapids; and two brothers, Richard (Lavina) VanBeek of LaMont, MI, and Carl (Lois) VanBeek of Allegan, MI.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, December 29, 2000, at the County Line Brethren Church, 69988 U.S. 31, Lakeville, IN. Rev. Larry Hanson, pastor of the church, and Rev. Larry Baker, pastor of First Brethren Church, South Bend, will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Thursday, December 28, at the Palmer Funeral Home, Lakeville, and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Contributions in memory of Marilyn G. Hanson may be donated to the American Cancer Society, County Line Brethren Church, or to Hospice of St. Joseph/Marshall County, Inc.
