July 30, 1910 - April 7, 1999

Valentine (Val) G. Hanson, 88, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, in New Braunfels, Texas.

He was born in Patterson, N.J. on July 30, 1910. He and Eleanor, his wife of 62 years, lived in the Mishawaka, South Bend, Ind. area until retiring in New Braunfels in 1972. Val retired from Robertson's Department Store after 35 years with the company.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; a daughter, Barbara Schumacher of Canyon, Texas; granddaughter, Connie Haymes of Austin, Texas; two grandsons, Mark Haymes of Austin, Texas and Mark Schumacher and wife Stephanie of Houston, Texas; nephew, Joe Hansen and wife, Betty of Chicago, Ill.; and in-laws, C.A. Kuhn and wife, Gerry of Mishawaka.

A private memorial service will be held for family and friends from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the Hanson's home located at 239 Bobolink, New Braunfels, Texas, 78130
