SOUTH BEND - Ivan J. Hardy, 84, of South Bend, passed away
Monday in Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 10, 1923, in
South Bend, to the late Ivan J. Hardy Sr. and Mabel E. (Wilkerson)
Hardy. Ivan was also preceded in death by his brother, Ray E.
Hardy.
On June 13, 1942, Ivan married the former
Minnie A. Hilton in Lydick. Ivan served his country
proudly in the U.S. Army until he received an honorable discharge
on June 6, 1943. Ivan retired in 1986 from Bendix where he worked
as a superintendent. Ivan is survived by his loving wife of 65
years, Minnie; his three sons, Dennis R. (Kathie) Hardy of
Indianapolis, James D. (Judy) Hardy of Virginia and Terry L.
Hardy of South Bend; three grandchildren, Michelle, Melissa and
James; and three great-grandchildren, Morgan, Christopher and
Hannah.
Private services will be held for the
family. Welsheimer Family Funeral Home is assisting his family
with arrangements.
